Balancing Driveshaft ?

I'm going to have to replace my drive shaft and read
in the Haynes manuel to mark it, as so to keep it balance
when removing. But if I'm replacing it with a new one,
does the new one come pre-balanced?

Yes, it should. Look for small weights on the shaft. If it's a new one, give 'em a call and ask, but haven't seen a new shaft not balanced.

We would you need a new driveshaft? The u-joint CAN be replaced in them. There a thread on here explaining how and where to get the u-joints for it.

quick question about driveshafts kinda ot...

How much torque can they handle? and what is the weaker point in the driveshaft? the joints, or the actual shaft?

Thank's for the info, I'll search for that thread but I'm
kinda pressed for time and ussually like to like to just
swap parts. I'm thinking of replacing clutch at same time
so really don't want to be spening alot of time on another
project. But if it's worth the time maybe I can do the DS
1ST then cluth next wek-end.

Read a lot of threads about replacing "u" joints, banging out bearings that are held in by metal tabs from factory. Installing new bearings that are held in by? tack welding? clips with no grooves? balancing? In my opinion, I'd rather spend the money for a new one.

You stake in the new bearing caps. It is remarkably simple, and very hard to mess up.
If you feel unsafe doing this, then by all means spend the extra money.

Depending on who you get it from, it might or it might not.

However, don't worry too much about it.

If you install it can be installed wrong, the car will vibrate as speed increases. The fix to this is to take out the four bolts for the driveshaft, and rotate it 90 degrees in either direction.

You have a 50/50 chance of getting it right, and if you don't, you'll know, and take an extra 5 mins to fix it.
