Baking the calipers...

I want to paint my new calipers...we have an awesome enamel paint at work that would stick to teflon and looks like powdercoating that I want to use but it's heat activated. Has to be heated to 175*f for thirty minutes to cure.

The calipers are new...no pads and no fluid. Could the innards, though, stand up to half an hour of 175*f?

The only thing to worry about would be the rubber seals. I did a quick search on the net, it looks like the melting point of rubber would be between 120-175 degrees Celsius on average. I would assume it depends on the rubber used.

120*C would equal 248*F. Assuming you bake them at a steady 175*F you should be safe.

Seems like the seals would routinely see higher temps than 175°F...I think you'll be fine.
