bad transmission?

hello everyone. this is my first post. i used the search function and couldent find anything.

so i test drove a 88rx7 today. and i noticed a couple of things. he mentioned the power steering would be stiff at times but would return to normal shortly. also he said that his rx7 consumes no oil whatsoever. the only gauges working was the rpm. and finally, while in first gear, going past 3k rpm would have no effect in speed. does anybody know what might be wrong?

can these problems be fixed? how much do u think it will cost me to repair.?

an Rx7 will use approx One Quart of oil every 3000 miles..since it Injects it into the Combustion chamber(loosely Fitted term) to Lubricate the Internals...if he says it Burns no Oil,He is Full of ****...The clutch sounds bad or there is something wrong with either the aux ports or the Secondary injectors not Giving fuel,as the Car should Scream after 3k..and lastly,The power steering Pump,or Rack is going,or the Belt is slipping..the Power steering is realatively Smooth on the stick Rx7,no Bobbles.

Avoid buying that Rx7. It has problems and seller has already lied to you about it burning oil. All Rx7's burn oil by design.

It pays in the long run to get the cleanest car you can to start with. That is unless you prefer maintaining it rather than driving it. Fixing other people's problems falls under the sucks category in my book.

I'd say avoid buying it, too. I got mine in Feburary and it was full of problems that would've costed me thousands if I didn't buy a project car. Frankly, I'm surprised that the engine didn't detonate in the condition they had it.

You will have to put way to much work into that 7 to make it really worth it. I think that car is basically a parts car.. sadness as it maybe.

it may not be burning oil because he is using full synthetic oil... full synthetic doesnt seem to burn right in a rotary...
just dont mess with that car.

He might not be lying about it not burning oil. My S5 n/a doesnt burn any oil(some fault with MOP that isn't a tripping CEL ^_^) so I premix it. If he is telling the truth there is no telling how much damage was done, and if he is lying you cant trust that the car had only a few issues.

Like the others have state get far away, run if necessary.
