Also i have bad vibration through the whole car its really bad. if im accelerating or not it vibates and it comes from the tranny area. Every time i hit the gas i hear a clank noise fronmt at same area. and every time i shift gears. its getting really bad i think i need a new tranny. Ive got the same vibration probs. Bought solid differential and tranny mounts from Scalliwag Performance on eBay. Getting them put in (hopefully) with this coming paycheck. I'll let you know how it goes.

The vibration could be one problem or a culmination of many things. My first impression is a u-joint coming apart. Dealing with finding the major vibration is the only thing to worry about right now. What will determine whether or shifter bushings will even be needed in the event you need another tranny.
If you vibrate at idle it idoes not rule out a bad u-joint. Your motor and/or tranny mounts may be bad.
What I see a lot of is 2nd gens with lots of worn out components. Even some of the cars that look pretty decent have a slew of issues when you get them on a lift.
Bottom line is look for more than one problem.

My vibration and clanking was due to bad u-joints so I swapped in a new driveshaft. But I had also suspected bad differential mounts.

As for shifting bushings, check Mazdatrix.
