Bad TPS?

I was reading the FC3Spro TPS adjustment for the the zenki turbo. And from what they say you should read 1k ohm at throttle rest. And 5kish at WOT. I tried to take the OHM reading of my 87' N/a and was reading 6.02 on a 20K ohm DMM. This was at both rest and WOT. Does this mean my TPS is bad, or going soon? Or was I doing something wrong?

Why are you messing with your TPS in the first place?

The car is not running right at all. It will stall, and from what I was told when i bought the car(paid next to nothing) the car is bridgeported. I was told that the TPS could be causing my idle problems as well as once I get to about 4kish RPMs the car starts jerking viscously. And from what Ive read the TPS causes this if out of adjustment.

Unless I read wrong and someone has some info on what might be wrong.

if you are stuck at 6ohms through the entire sweep of the throttle then you should probably invest in a new TPS they are pretty pricey maybe check the bone yard for one, make sure to take your DMM and test it b4 you buy it, make sure the TPS is not just stuck though, when you look at it there should be like a button sticking out of it resting on the throttle pieces (actuall terms have escaped me), if those are not touching at idle then you are just way out of adjustment

Do you by chance have a picture of where the N/a TPS adjustment screw is? As its not in the same place as the Turbo... And the little "button" is nowhere near my throttle, I don't even thing the button is in there anymore. But when I go back to my garage I'll double check to make sure.

Thanks for the comments,
-Mike

well i have an 87 NA as well, and the only camera I have is on my cell phone, can you get picture messages, I can snap a shot with my cell and send it to you, I will point with a screw driver or something, or when I get off work in about 4 hours I can snap a shot at home and put it on the forum

on that pic behind the alternator is the TPS (top center), you can see the button touching the throtle stuff, if memory serves the screw part in the front of the TPS is the adjustment screw

here is the thread that came from

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...tps+adjustment

bunch of pics in there

whoa that sucks! there is a 7 at the yard down the road but I am not sure if the top end is even on the motor, I can run by and check tom since they are closed allready, snap a pic of yours so I can see what all is missing, that however would def keep your tps at 6ohms the whole sweep, also if you can't find one, i think it is just a screw and a spring, can probably go to parts store and find one

I found a screw today, had the right threads but the wrong length. But I used it for now, to get the TPS to actually read right. It now reads 1.05 @ rest 5.95 @ WOT. I didn't notice the screw in the pic, so I will add one tomorrow when I go to pick up the bends for my new exhaust.

So as of now the TPS is reading closer to what it should be, But i still just bog when i go WOT... So that is the next thing to address.

Thanks for your help man,
-Mike
