bad starter i think

bad starter i think

i bought my 1988 black se rx-7 with 98 thousand miles and i put in my driveway for the winter and left the battery in for a week and tried to start it and the battery was dead so i jumped it and warmed it up and shut it off let it set for a kittle wile and the starter just clicked when i tried to start it so i drove it around for a wile and let it sit and tried to start it and the battery whould not even make the starter click. what is wrong with it piz help

i belive it could be your alternator or battery just barely charging or holding charge , i had this happen to one of my previous cars and i think it was the battery when it clicks i think it means the starter doesnt have enough power, but i could also be wrong and it could really be the starter but you should really get those two checked out also

but it could also be your soleniod on your starter

i think it is the starter soleniod because i took a hammer and taped the starter soleniod a couple times and let it cool down for 4 hours with the battery in and went and started it right up but then i tried it the next morning and whould not start

it could be both, like those guys mentioned.

I had a similar problem with my 240sx where i would turn the key and it would just click.

It was my alternator.
