Bad Spark Plug Wires?

Ive recently noticed an odd problem when attempting to adjust my timing. I noticed that only one of the Leading wires(L2) would illuminate the timing light. When I switched that wire to L1, it lit up the light. I am suspicious that it is the wires because I examined and checked them both with a multimeter and they seemed fine. Any other ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks

The trailing plugs are hard to get a reading off of. Take the spark plug boot just a bit off the spark plug so it sparks slightly. That should make it easier for the timing light to read it.
