Bad oil metering pump?
I'm looking at buying a '90 N/A 5 speed and the owner says it never uses oil inbetween oil changes. Sounds to me like the metering pump is bad? Should I stay away? Thanks for the replies.

A bad OMP on a series five should kick a code and if your driving the car, after a few minutes the ECU should go into LIMP mode and the car will drive real crummy. Until you turn it off and start all over again> Then it will repeat the scenario.
Prove the OMP is not working? Maybe take one of the banjo bolts off the OMP and rev the engine for severall minutes and see if oil is comig out where the banjo bolt was.

If a car is driven just around town and not rev'd up very much, it will use very little oil thru the OMP.
Series four or series five, the OMP will not cause the engine to seize up for several tens of thousand miles. Just FYI. The engine WILL wear out faster though. OMP do not feed bearings.

hes said it used no oil probly becuase he does not know that rx7's actually inject oil into their mixture... think about it, if the guy didnt know, of course he is going to say that... so youll want to buy it. (he knows if a piston engine smokes its bad so he said that)
