Bad news for the 86

Hello eveyone. I have some bad news for myself. I decided that my coolant issue is due to a blown coolant seal. I was wondering for one, can I replace the coolant seal without tearing down the engine? IF not, will this engine fit into my 86 GXL? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/13B-R...QQcmdZViewItem
What way should I go with this car? I am on a very small budget. Thanks for help in advance.

replacing coolent seals means tearing down the engine unfortunitly.... that engine will fit, but you will want to reuse your old intake manifolds and sensors ( as an 89 uses different intake manifolds injectors and sensors)

you would also want to swap the front cover from your old engine and omp onto the new one, or you will have to premix ( the 89 has an eelctronic oil metering pump)

Well, my dad and me have been talking. We have a spare carb 5.0L out of his 83 capri in the garage, and a friend with a 83 4speed transmission for $50. We are going to attempt it. I guess, with the death of the rotary engine, a project is beginning.

1st off, this thread wasnt started to be a non rotary engine thread. Also, I had considered another 13B. But my car was for sale anyways, and I dont feel like spending alot of money to put another 13B in it and still wanna get rid of it. I hate that the coolant seel went if that is the problem, because I was supposed to meet 2 people this weekend interested in trades. Oh well.
