Bad Main Harness?

I fixed my vacuum problem and did a rotary resurrection emission removal and got my car running. About 10 later on a test drive the engine cuts off and wont start back up.

Today, I was doing some trouble shooting. I have a test light hooked up to check for codes. I noticed when I turned the key to ON, no lights come at all. I than started unplugging sensors and still no lights... The only code I got was when I unplugged the MAF.

Thanks in advance!

I'm assuming you have an S4 if not then say so. If you do then check the 15 amp Engine fuse in the interior fuse box. If your Main relay clicks w/key to "on" then your Engine fuse is okay. Also, check the 30 amp fuse in the engine fuse box near the leading coil that has the White/Blue wire feeding out of it and see if it is good. This would be the EGI Comp fuse.

I hope you Taped up any wires that were Exposed from your Emissions removal.
Did you Cut any?or just tape up the Connectors out of the way?
As Satch says,it does sound like a EGI Fuse.
If any Wire contacted Ground, then the EGI Fuse would Pop as it is Hooked in with all the emissions Stuff that you just took off.

Yes, Its a Jspec S5 motor in my S4 chassis. The last owner did the emissions removal, but left a few vacuums lines. I cleaned up the vacuums and etc. All the wires were wrapped and etc from the last owner.

I have check both the 15amp fuse inside and fuse in the engine bay. Both are fine. The main relay does click over when I turn the key to ON.

So your car turns over but does not start. Is this correct? If so then you need to confirm you have fuel and spark and go from there.

Here is an update. Im getting fuel and voltage to the injectors. Trying to test the spark from coils. I heard spark on the front rotor. Soon after I notice the test light started flashing for codes of the sensors I unplugged to take off the UIM. I started to back together and it stop again. I took off the UIM again and couldnt hear or see spark from the plugs.

I guess so far I have a coil/igniter problem...

The easiest way to test for spark is to remove one of the plug wires from the bore of the coil such as the leading coil and then place the plug wire back into the bore but leave a small gap of about 1/8th inch and then attempt to start the car. Sometimes it's best to have two people do this procedure as one starts the car while the other watches for spark. Make sure the B/Y wire at the coils have battery voltage w/key to on. You would need to disconnect the white plug to do this.

Finally got an update... I tested for spark and got nothing from trailing or leading. I unplugged the white plug and tested for voltage on the B/Y wire. Voltage from the B/Y wire. I took a little break and came back. I noticed my diagnostic / test light was flashing codes. (UIM was removed to check the harness and etc) Tested again for spark and spark from both. Reinstalled everything and started on the first try.

Any ideas?

Thanks again Satch!

Could have very well been a grounding problem or perhaps a wire accidentally shorting out that got moved in the process of working on your engine.
