Bad Idle

Need help with my '86 RX-7 (non-turbo).

The other day on the way to work it all of sudden started not idleing. When up and running at speed it runs fine, but when you try to idle it dies. So far I've replaced the plugs, air filter, and fuel filter. I've also dumped some high grade gas, fuel injection cleaner and octane booster in to it. All to no avail.

Can you help me please?

Chad

As above, check for vacuum leaks. Spray carb cleaner, some say starting fluid around to see if any changes. Check BAC and TPS.

I noticed that there is some kind of sensor or something another on the air control that has a wire going to it, but the wire is broken. Does anyone know what this is?

I don't know if this will help. But with an NA, you should use 87 octane gas, and no octane boosters. I also agree with tonyge about the BAC and TPS, I need to check mine too.

Why would you not want a higher octane?
