bad day

I just bought my first rx7 the other day it's an 88 and I've been having a blast until tonight. On my way home i pulled out from a stop sign and felt the clutch slip a little and then it wouldn't disengage or allow me to shift into a gear. I'm assuming the clutch is shot. The car has 82000 miles on it and i belive it is the original clutch. My question is what is a good replacement clutch and should I replace the entire thing(throughout bearing, etc.)or not. The other thing is I don't want a piece of **** clutch but i don't want to spend a fortune either. Any help would be appreciated.

yes check your clutch slave and cylinder as well as the line, mine went out and those are the symptoms, i was able to fill my resivor up with clutch fluid daily for a week to get around town until it finally gave out on me and left me in second gear, the slaves or master cylinders are not expensive at all prolly around 100 for both

yeah sounds hydraulic. much cheaper/easier fix than pulling the tranny for a new clutch.

hmmm... is it possible for that fork that the slave pushes against to slip off the ball it rests on or the throwout bearing?
