Bad Day
I got my motor back yesterday and started to put it in. I finished putting it in today. I couldnt figure out how to get my oil pressure gauge to work, so i got a cheap sunpro from the autopart store so i was ready to go. I finally get my car started, and it was such a relief b/c i have been without a car for like 4 months. It ran for about 10 seconds, and then all the wires that go to the maf burnt up and started smoking really bad so i shut it off, and now yet again i am without a car. I think i am just going to put microtech on.
I finally got my car off the blocks yesterday for the first time in forever, took it for a 2 minute drive and came home. Damn thing wouldn't start up again after that. I'm pretty sure it is/was flooded badly. I did the unflooding procedure (easy and hard) and neither worked. The one involving pourding a fluid into the engine "almost" worked, but not quite. Eh, oh well, at least it moved for the first time in 3 months

remove all 4 plugs, take the 2 most inner fuses out of the fuse box beside the left strut tower and crank her over 5 second at a time leaving 1 minute between cranks till nothing more comes out..
PS you might want to do this in a well ventilated area to avoid brain damage (you know who you are!! I think i lost 10 point off my IQ tonight

damn thats extremley shitty to have your wires go up like that... the worst part is that there is something extremley wrong with the wiring in the engine bay... tracking it down is the real deal..
what in the hell could cause your wires to do that?

Those are all low current signal wires, so a high current feed must have shorted into the AFM wiring.
With luck the AFM may still be useable, but be sure to test it before connecting the Microtech.
