During all rpm ranges sometimes my car just hesitates like it has fuel cut. During this hesitation my air flow reading on my SAFC spikes to 90(normally smooth transitions from 0 - 30),what i would like to know is if this reading is just the effect of having a hesitation or could this be the cause of my hesitation?

 

best thing to do is just test the afm....if its bad then i would check for leaks, in the intake, ic piping and especially vac leaks.

 

Yes, but wouldn't vac leaks have other symptoms like high rpm or pulsation?

 

The tests in the FSM are of the most rudimentary level that you can't prove much with them imho.

 

for some reason when my car hesitated really bad in the mid rpm range, it idled fine but when i accelerated it would act like it didnt want to go....it ended up being a vac line behind my intake manifold, it had a crack in it.
