at 6500 rpm the wasetgate SHOULD be open.

the buzzer is completely unrelated, though. he's probably talking about the fact that stock TIIs don't hold boost very well to redline.

First of all, get them turbo's nice and hot before you race for optimum results...
As far as shifting go's, if your car is not sickly... Tac that biatch out!!! Then, if you have mad quick shift skillz, You can shift into your next gear w/o dropping out of your power band, (it dosent take that quick of a shift to keep it up there.)

Hee Hee. You know why the passenger was freakin? Any one thats done it knows.

5mph sober = 25mph "intoxicated"

So think about 60-90 mph on curvy backroads intoxicated. The poor bastard probably about **** himself.

Are you running stock headlights still? Seemed like you didn't have much of a good vision ahead of you...

are you hypntyz7? but with a new, sleek name?
yes.

midnight blue with shiny wheels if i remember right. twas clean.
I used to have a picture of my harbor blue metallic 89 GTU (my first rex ever, from several years ago) with a black turbo hood, rolling at about 60mph...front half shot only from a side-by-side car. REcently, I switched to the aol im icon of "rx7 v8 bitch slap"..lol

when we going for a ride kevin?
I guess when you get your pos running well enough to race it?

I dont know...it's not all that different from a lightly modded t2, really. The engine probably makes a few more horses, but the weight of the vert slows it down a little more so it doesnt feel any different.

What exhaust do you have on there?
racingbeat full turboback.

By chance that isn't the turbo that I sold you
No, that thing got sold on ebay a long time ago. IT had too much shaft play, so I never bothered with that thing.

SO how fast did u end up getting RR?
I dunno, 80-90. The vid doesnt show it clearly, but that one section is a complex, narrow triple-S with trees/poles at the apex of each corner

The back end is sliding just a hair...need better tires.

where is your tachometer needle?
uhm, where it should be? I can see them fine at night, but the camera and the low-res capture video may not have picked it up. I did not feel the need to paint my needles, I like them to be accurate...

Are you running stock headlights still?
Yes, on high beams, with the s5 foglights on as well. You can see pretty well, I have good vision, and know the road very well.

Humm, I just wondered, because that turbo had a chunk of the rotor houseing sleeve in the hot side.

Don't ask me how it got there.

It is a stock s4 turbo. The car runs a big SP, high compression (helps it spool quickly...to quick in fact on the highway it stays in boost) hybrid engine, cone, TID, full RB 3" exhaust, and knightsport ecu.

Soon I will sport a greddy FMIC, 4x720cc injectors, a t04E and divided manifold, and probably a microtech.

i cant remember if it was you or someone that said high comp with turbo was the worse idea ever.... i certainly dont think it was you though, im glad more people are trying it... oh well ill be back agian when i get my car runnin just checkin up the boards

I am doing it as an experiment.

A) I know what I am doing, or at least pretty close to it
b) if I tear it up, it is not an issue to build another engine and have it running within a couple of days.
c) I am cautious with my setup

I do not recommend it for the general population, or those who like to be hard on their cars all of the time.

Note also that this is a custom built hybrid block...3mm seals and turbo irons, so it isn't your neighbor's 6 port turbocharged motor..it was purpose built.

Nice vid. That turbo sounds sorta like mine actually. You say its a stock turbo though? Mine screams and hums like that but its a t304 and I got no AFM (mmmmMicrotech). Good vid though for sure, made me really wanna go out driving on some twisties.

I'd go check your turbo for bent blades, or excessive shaft-play if it sounds like that.. Turbos really shouldnt be whining..just a nice "whoosh" sound. My stock turbo sounded like a 747 taking off when it spooled..turns out there were 3-4 bent blades on the compressor wheel.

I'll check it, but pretty sure the turbo is in mint condition. Its a fairly new turbo too. Mine does not sound exactly the same as the one in vid, but sorta close. It starts as just a loud sucking noise and then as you hit 10psi or get into the upper rpm whichever comes first it starts making a humming noise.
