Backfire Problems.

My 1990 RX7 non turbo backfires when i redline at 7000rpm shifting into the next gear u hear a very loud pop from the exhaust is the normal or is it because i have a magnaflow custom exhaust.

yeah the more free flow the exhaust the more it will do that. rx7's are infamous about that. Everyone thinks its pretty cool. If you do a search you will see vids of people doing shooting huge flames

Have a friend stand behind (and off to the side) as you rev it in neutral. Bounce it off the rev limiter a few times. Peal their jaw off the ground.

It's perfectly normal.
