Are you talking about changing from a rear seat to the dual storage compartments?

Just buy the seat and hardware, and bolt it in.. You have to modify the carpet, everything else bolts in .

I just pulled out the back seat from my 87 GXL, PM me if you want pictures or are interested in the hardware.

No. Zero modifications needed to carpet. I have two rear seat sets and the carpet is attached directly to the seat back.

The section of carpet that needs to be modified is not attached to the seat, it's the carpet around the shock towers. This will need a slot cut where the latches mount, unless you have those panels as well.
