No, the GTU has solid rear rotors and the Turbo's are vented, hence the Turbo calipers are wider, so it's not possible unless you swap the rotors as well.
I assume the rotor/caliper swap is a direct bolt on but have never looked into it so someone with more experience will have to chime in....

Are you already sporting the 4-piston brakes in the front? If so, you should already have the vented rears.. But, I'm 90% sure the 89-90 GTU's didn't have 4-pot fronts. However, if you get the GXL brakes (or 91 package A), you could do a full swap. Front and rears. But, you'll have to swap the rear hub assy as well I believe. Not a huge deal.

You wouldn't want to put crappier brakes on a TII would you? He wants to put the 89 brakes on the 88.

No, I certainly wouldn't but that is what the OP was inquiring about, eh?

Lately there seems to be an obsession with rear brakes 'round here...wonder why?

S5 GTU's were the base model, so they did NOT come with 4 pot brakes, limited slip, or hard suspension

There are 3 different types of rear calipers:
4 Lug solid disk
5 Lug solid disk
5 Lug vented disk (found on all turbos and any car with 4 piston fronts)

The first responce answered your question. They are different and you can't just swap the calipers.
