BAC for smog?...

The BAC (depending on series) can be needed to stabilize the idle when rear defrost, headlights, power steering, foglights, A/C and cold starting are on.
So if you can be without any of those things, by all means you can take it off (but frankly I don't see the point on doing that with the stock ECU still in the car).

Sorry to dig up an older thread, but I'm doing my NA->Turbo within the next weekend or two. The UIM I have, already has the BAC blocked off.
Now normally on one of my NA cars, if I pull the hose off of the underside of the intake tunnel(that goes to BAC), the car immediately dies.
If I were to disconnect the BAC completely, then remove that hose, does the car still die? Basically, I'm asking, how does the car keep idle if no BAC exists?
