I searched quickly but couldnt find it. I was just wondering if someone could explain the purpose of the coolant lines running over the BAC. ie what they do and how it works internally.

Im basically wondering because I have the BAC in now without the coolant lines and want to know what will change if I put the coolant lines back on!

According to Mazda the coolant prevents icing and keeps the coil at a constant temp. Personally I think the icing would only be an issue in extreme climates, and a non-constant coil temp might just cause slight idle speed variations. Unscrew the coolant line connection from the BAC body and run it like that for a week or two to see if you notice any difference.

 

well ive nevr had em on. ive got the bac on a new rebuild, but i never ran the coolant lines. i was just wondering if im hindering the operation completely by not having them.

 

Does the BAC valve work okay? Does it respond to engine loads the way it should? If you're happy with the idle quality I wouldn't worry about it.

 

what was the results of using the BAC with out coolant flowing through it?
