BAC coolant line, important or not?

well i did the TB mod, and now im going to end up having that coolant line coming OFF the thermowax and going TO it just hanging off.

the one returnts it back to the cooling system, the other comes from the BAC.

about the one coming off the BAC, it looks like it just passes through it, and originates from the nipple on the water pump housing.

my question, does the BAC need the coolant running through it to operate or not?

if not, then i can just run the hose from the Water pump housing directly to the port where the thermowax line returned to the cooling system and bypass the BAC and thermowax (currently El Absento from my TB)?

id like to know so that i can get my car put back together soon, im gonna wait to put my TB back on since it makes working on it easier.

btw, im going to disconnect the EGR and releif solenoid while im at it. any reasons why i shouldnt...besides the Ozone layer?

thanks
chris

I do.
NO, you can ditch the lines.
The lines run coolant through it so that as soon as the car is warm, the BAC can melt off any ice that may have formed from water vapour in the air that flows through it. If you live in a warm climate, especially, you can ditch it.
Some people say the coolant line would cool the solenoid, but I doubt it operates at such a high hertz that it would receive any cooling from the 200 degree coolant flowing through it. I think it would cool better without the line, from the air that flows through it.
So far, no one has confirmed any BAC failures with removing them, so ditch it if you want, you just risk poor idling with accessories on (p/s and air) until your car is warm when it is cold out (if you can remove the thermowax cold start system, this will make no difference).
If you lose a/c and p/s, you can ditch the BAC entirely.
Hope this makes sense, and helps you out.
