Average price for Clutch replacement 88 FC S4 Vert

I’m the original owner of an 88 RX7 Vert S4, I’m still on my original clutch. The car still drives and shifts fine but I think I’m due for a meeting clutch.

what parts and labor are involved for that job and what’s the average price from a reputable shop?

How many miles? Why worry about a replacement if not bad?

its about 4 hours of labor, plus the cost of the clutch kit. the clutch kit is about $200...

let them upsell you the transmission mount and the rear main seal

I was just looking at clutch parts recently. . Cheapest I found was $59 on amazon, , ,So cheap I might as well buy it just because,

It runs bout 200+ bucks if you want flywheel too.

Rockauto has M-Pact brand clutch for 70.
I would trust that more than some random amazon or ebay stuff

Or just upgrade it to some heavier duty aftermarket clutch/pressure plate while replacing it anyways. Combine it with a lightweight steel flywheel. All depends on your budget of course and what you want the car for.

But you only change out the clutch over years anyways, so it may be worth the investment.

Definitely replace the rear main seal and bearings while you’re in there. Get the flywheel resurfaced or replaced.
