Aux Ports

So, I was wondering. Does the preasure from the intake manifold close them? With the manifold off, I can see that there looks to be a connection the runs to the hole that connects to the actuator.

If it does use manifold preasure to snap them shut, will my 10-14 psi pump be enough to counter act this manifold preasure? Does the extra air get shoved into the intake?

The air pressure that opens them comes from the exhaust. It is routed from the cat through the split air pipe. There should be a tube that comes off it and connects to a pipe on the LIM. This directs air into the passage connected to the aux port. It is seperate from the rest of the air in the intake.

I will have to take some pictures. I have the tube on there connected to banjo bolt type things. When the actuator is lined up, the air hole on the actuator lines up with a hole that seems to be going straight through the manifold. The banjo bolt appears to connect into that same channel.

It will be more clear when I show you guys the pictures. I thought it was weird too. Maybe the holes I am seeing go to the ACV? Eh, I will look a little more later. Working a lot because of season. Go Costco!

Like the Sideways said, the exaust gas from the converter OPENS them. The banjo bolt and it's tubing is connected to that split air pipe that goes to the catalytic converter.

The actuators are spring loaded to CLOSE the aux port sleeves. And it only takes about three psi to open them.
