aux port test??

I don't think my auxillary ports are working, and by searching and searching I found on aaron cake's rx7 site that you can put some grease on the actuator rods. I know where everything is, but don't have a clue about what grease I should use. to those of you who have done this before, please help.

you can use regular motor oil or vaseline. Doesnt matter really. You are just checking to see if whatever you used has moved or not.

If you can push the auxillary port lever down does that mean that the port is working??

ok. I tried it, and the results are inconclusive. maybe I don't know where to put the grease, or I had the actuator rods mixed up with another rod. is the actuator rod parrallell to the ground or almost perpindicular?

what do you mean they are inconclusive? If you did the test correctly they will either move or not move. Basically just put the grease or whatever on the actuating ports and bring the car up to redline a few times after the car is fully warmed up. The test has to be done under load meaning you have to actually drive the car and cannot just rev it in neutral.

the grease moved, but it looks like it moved just from me driving, not necessarily because the ports were opening. thanks though.

Use thicker grease. The rods are perpandicular to the ground. They stick out of two cylinders that are located on the lower intake manifold.

Thanks, I didn't know if they were the little ones connected to the valves or the ones coming out of the cylinders. Also do the actuator rods move very fast, i guess I don't inderstant that part?

btw, thanks for all your help, and thanks to anyone else who is a part of making this site what it is.
