Thumbs down AutoXed today!! And something negative happend

Well, I finally got out and Auto-xed today. They had a school at the local airport. Got out there and had a great time! Probally got about 10 runs out of it. Not to bad for $30 that includes lunch.

I even let my girlfriend take my '86 base model out for one run. She had a great time! (Fun that is...time wasn't that good but it was her first time!). That car smoked like hell but it still runs great!

The negative. I think I blew the gasket between my manifold and the engine. Has anybody delt with this? Does exhaust go anywhere else besides out the manifold and to the turbo? I was thinking some went to the ACV?

I have pulled an engine twice and pulling the turbo scares me more. Should I be scared more?

MY car sounds like an 8N Ford Tractor

Well, at first I thought I blew an exhaust gasket. But those gaskets are 2000 miles old and I torqued them down to factory specs.

So I was probing around with the car running. Had a hammer on the gas pedal to keep it at 3000rpm. IT was SOO loud with the leak! After moving heat sheilds around something feel out from the turbo area.

Recognize it? I sure did. It appears to be the bolt that holds the hot section of the turbo on. I believe it has three of those. I found it at 11pm and did not want to take the turbo off.

Here is the link for the video. It is just as loud in my engine bay as behind my N1 Duals.

I was so glad this screw up was not my fault. Because I sent the turbo off for a rebuild. I need to see if the warrenty will cover new gaskets and washers. This sucks. I could have auto-xed today!

Actually, there are 6 of those...well, 5 now after that one fell off.&nbsp If you ONLY got 3 left, something is drastically wrong!

Yep, it would sound just like an exhaust leak, cause it is an exhaust leak.

It sucks man...pulling that damn thing out. I would have more motivation if it was my fault. That way I can kick my self the whole time. Since it was somebody else's fault I want them to pick up the tab for this.
