I'd like to know the answer to this question too ... i'd imagine it would be inaccurate unless the stock sensor is the same range/resistance, and it's working properly (DOUBT IT!)

its has a terminal with a stick on it saying "connect sender wire to this terminal"
I have gotten no extra wire or sensors it looks like with this..
I have in the packet 2 colored things that would slip over bulbs to big plugs for screw holes.. one thing almost looks like a sensor with something you screw into the back of it but nothing to do that.. and a couple of bushings..
you arent supposed to use regular wire for this obv i would think.. any ideas?
Thanks

Assuming you have the electrical water temp guage, it came with a sender. You have to install that sender in line with coolant flow, then string a wire to the guage from the sender. Additionally, you need power, and ground. www.autometer.com should have instructions on all the guages they sell. Regular wire is fine.
As for installing the sender, that's complicated. I don't know of anyone selling a kit to help you do this.
What I did, was get a 1/8npt tap (and the required drill bit), find a good spot in the water pump housing, just below the thermostat, drill out the required hole, and tap it with the 1/8 NPT tap. Apply some sensor safe sealant, and install. if you don't know how to use a tap to make threads, find a friend who does, once you drill the hole, you're committed, you have to do this.

The white and black one go to the light.
You have three 'studs' on the back of the guage, the power, ground, and sender wires have to goto those studs
Yes, you have to buy wire
