Automatic Tranny
I have a 87 with a auto tranny. Here are my questions. This is the first auto car I have owned so I am really new at this.
Is there any kind of kick down adkustment.
Aslso the car only goes upto 4500 rpm in 1st and 2nd gear when in D. I can take it higher by keeping it in 1 or 2.
I read in the manual about some bands that need adjustment? What are those for?
Thanks for all your help guys

with the automatic transmission and the pedal all the way down, the car will normally shift at around 4500 rpm. keeping the car in gear (or manually shifting) is the only way to reach the higher rpm's, but this will cause unwanted strain on the transmission. unless you're on a hill, try to refrain from shifting.

ok, just tested my 86'. from a complete stop first shifts at about 4500\5000 rpm, second shifts at about 5500/6000rpm and third, well it shifts when ever you decided you want the od to kick in.
