Autocross exhaust/tires/setup?
Looking to keep my 7 in the stock class (CNAC) which allows me any exhaust system (not including manifold), any rims of stock diameter/offset, and choice of rubber (besides R-comp).
I've been looking to keep the dual exhaust setup (a la Apex'i N1 Dual) and possibly some really light crap wheels that I can put my Michelin Pilot Sport Cup's on. Or, make your suggestion on rubber.
As to setup, what can I do with the stock parts that will make this car run like the devil it should be? I've heard that the rear bushings are a MAJOR requirement, and that the shocks are adjustable by rotating the mount, but not much else. Any and all help would be appreciated, thanks!

If you are serious with a Autox setup don't go N1. Get a 2.5 inch straight pipe (no cats) from your stock manifold. This will give you the much needed low end as opposed to the N1 which kills low end. In my personally view the N1 are not suited for NA cars.
Get SHOCKS, AGX adjustable are the bang for the buck for stock class. And for tires don't bother with R-Compounds yet, get a set of Falken Azenis for grip.
If you plan to stay in stock class you need to stick with the stock size rims in offset, witdth and radius, so don't bother with lightwieght rims yet. Other then that if you want to start modifying the car try swaybars they do wonders on the car.

Yeah, but I don't want to ruin the nice dual look of the car
Low end really isn't much of an issue on the auto-x track anyways, I'm always up around 6500+

Wormiez: what exhaust do you suggest then? I don't want some custom jobby that will have obscure bends and overall look like crap - but I also what something inexpensive.
Remzuo: what gear are you in to be at 6500 rpms? I am hoping 2nd... and then do you leave it in 2nd around the whole course?

Second, yes. The courses are short and open enough to not need a downshift. Although, the last course, I was pushing 8k and wondering if I should shift...

I'm running on a Custom Race Header, two resonators exiting out to a magnaflow muffler. Everything is 2.5 inch piping. Before I ran on the Race headers leading to a 3inch turbo catback Kakimoto Racing Exhaust. Before my car lacked serious low end needed to exit out of tight situations, especially in the sweeper turns. But now with my new setup my car pulls well egnough in low end.
I remember seeing your car Remzou at Autox, well once you drive without a Cat you will notice a drop in low end and an increase in mid-high end power. The dominant cars like the Miata run 2.25 piping usualy to maxmiz low end power. In Autox torque and low end power are key things when dealing with power on such a small track.
