auto transmission wiring harness

I need some tips on disconnecting the wiring harness. I am switching out my transmission (both auto) and am unable to disconnect the wiring harness from below. Is there anything I should know about disconnecting? Can it be done from above. Am I just looking at it wrong. HELP.

Thanks.

If you just can't get the plugs loose cut the wires and label them well. Use some inline splices to put it all back together. I'd spray the connectors with some carb cleaner first. If you can get the conn's clean you should be able to pry them apart. I had a lot of trouble with mine when I did the swap and just cut the lines. With the tranny out of the car and the conn's cleaned off they popped loose with a flathead and some pull.
