Mazdaracing Quik Shift OWNERS!!!!!

I'm planning on buying a short (throw) shifter because the stock shifter bushings are done.

The Mazdatrix short shifter is stock height after installation with approx. 42% decrease in throw.

The Mazdaracing Quik Shift claims 60%, but I was wondering if the MR quik shift is at stock height (the ****, that is)??

Any responses would be appreciated, also please state which **** you are using. Thanks.

P.S. Anyone else buying a short throw shifter.. the prices are as follows...

One piece construction shifters

Mazdatrix ... $192.00
Mazdaracing ... $169.00

Two piece shifter

C's Short shifter (eBay) ... $220.00

I have the mazdaracing shifter. Its absolutly KICK ***. Compared to stock the throws are tiny!

Over all its the best on the market I already did the computations for all other short shifters and none are close to the 60%+ reduction with the mazdaracing one. The shifter **** is a little bit lower with the short shifter but not insanely lower. I am running a stock S4 Shifter.

If I could do it again I would get the same one. Its damn cheap and works great!

Santiago

PS- Second choice would be a hIGGItrix one which is right up there!

Unless you're a really cheap SOB like me.

Cut 1" off the threads.
Drill a ball **** to set as low as possible.
tap for an oversized set screw.
Short shaped piece of heater hose to hide the chrome ring & shaft.

Yea - it was the CD/casette combo & it worked, but I sold the 91NA last October.
(After swapping the shifter to the turbo.)

I personally haven't had any problems with MazdaRacing.com. Their pully kits, short throw shifters, and shift ***** looks top notch though.

I am waiting for them to finish the FC serpantine pully kit.

Jeff is a pretty nice guy. I don't know if all your guy's claims carry through. Alot of people on here like to B.S. and make false acusations just to cut his business down. Get with it. If an item isn't shipped, reverse it on the credit card. Or just use paypal!

Doesn't their website claim like 10+ hp gain just from pulley swap?

I have the mazdaracing short shifter, and it works great. i got it in december for 130 something shipped! also purchased their shift ****, which looks very good. however, after about 3 hours of driving my car with the shifter, my 5th gear got fubared, and i am unable to get 5th gear to engage, its like something is blocking the gate. i do not know if the shifter was the cause of this, but im getting a t2 tranney soon and will be installing the shifter in it.

I would not buy from mazdaracing, especially their pulleys. They weigh just about as much as the stock ones if not more. I got them off of them and put the main one on and all it did was scrape against my engine. I called them and told them and they tried telling my mechanic did something wrong and has been building rotaries for a long time. So i would not buy anything off of them, they are full of ****.

I have the mazdaracing short shifter kit with a razo **** and I love it! It sits a little shorter than stock and going from gear to gear is really short. Comes with new bushings and makes it feel very notchy almost like a video game, not sloppy like the stock shifter.
