sorry man but i think its totally not worth it, you might as well go out and buy a stick
because you would spend alot of time and money, and effort in doing the swap

wether or not its worth it depends on how good the condition of the rest of the car is. and besides, with the right information it can go smoothly regardless. i wouldn't go with the archived write up in here... it's a hardly the complete write up it claims to be.

you're going to have to fabricate a bracket and do some re-wiring, as well as get all the parts. i did it and have no regrets. i do wish there was better info out there though.

well, one day me and my friend were rallying with a bunch of friends to a spot and we forgot about this cornor and it had just raind and was pitch black. we were passing a 240 at like 110 or so and saw him slam on his brakes, thats when we rememberd about the big *** cornor but it was too late for us, we still hit the cornor at like 80 and did a 180 and was going backwards going still 70 at least and i couldnt keep it straight so i put it in the inbankment and we rolled on to the drivers side then on to the roof and slid. our friends fliped us back over and made us go in their cars, so i have the wrekless driving and a hit and run because i was forced into their car so i was not there (ended up getting arrested) i then went to court and pled guilty to wrekless and they droped the hit and run. so on sep 5 i lose it till jan 11. pretty fucked up i would say.

so i just need something to do because i dont wanna do anything else to my parts car first gen, i already put the motor out of my other car in it and its giving me problems. so yup

Wow you are nuts! That must've been a blast anyway.

I did an automagic to manual swap on my VW. You need a donor car to get all the parts. It's basically not worth it since you end yup swapping the whole car almost. You have to decide if it's worth it.

its totally worth it. you don't need a donor car. just clutch pedal, gearbox, clutch masta cylinder, slave cylinder and associated lines. and then just clutch plate, flywheel and pressure plate. oh and a manual driveshaft.
you may aswell do it properly and get a mean clutch, heavy duty pressure plate and lightened flywheel. i've got a 5 puck clutch and 6kg flywheel so it does mean skids.
as for the labour involved you can do it in less then a day

I might be picking up a cheap ($150) fc, but its an auto, this looks like it wouldn't bee to bad of a swap, the biggest problem i see is not really having a way to get the trannie's out and in.

be forewarned that you can only follow the archived write up if you are putting a series 5 trans in the car. s4 manuals have wider mounting points that aren't compatible with the automatic x-member... well i adapted it but it was a pain in the ***. if you put in a s5 tranny you can just make brackets and pop it in using the auto crossmember.
