I have an 87 GXL with the auto adjusting suspension. I never drove the car new from the factory when it actually worked so I'm not sure how much of a difference you can actually feel. I'm guessing its very minimal, more than likely it just doesn't work, mine doesn't..... Along with a few other things, damn electrical gremlins!

here's a question--can I just remove all that electrical **** for the AAS and use aftermarket suspension parts designed for the non-AAS cars? does anyone know if that would be cheaper? cuz I cant tell if it does anything at all, and ALL the electrical stuff on mine works perfectly.....

Yeah you can replace it with aftermarket suspension and remove the AAS. Plan on doing that to mine very soon. It's pretty pointless to me, its a RX-7 not a Caddy, I like the harsh ride.

I can tell a very little difference with mine. I just always leave it on sport though.

The auto adjusting suspension can be felt if its working properly, i had it on a gxl. The car sways more if you have it on normal mode but is more confterble. The sport mode has less sway and is a little harsher, perfect for cornering. However this system is mad old so i wouldent worry much about it if you want autoadjusting suspension get the Tien hyper flex system...That is REAL adjusting suspension and will dramaticlly improve the handeling of FC's this is the system i plan on getting in the future.

the AAS is probably a lot like the sub-zero start assist. It's pointless.
If you're worried about handling put it into "permanent sport mode" and go aftermarket.

It actually does something....weather or not you can feel it thats a different story.... when you press the button to sport... little motors on top of each shock that spin a thing on the shock.. therefor making it a little stiffer. but is what i did... is swithed to sport and took out the motors.. so its always on sport.... (i took them out cuase my rear strut bar didnt fit with them
