auto adjust suspension.
auto adjust suspension.
I was wondering how hard it will be to convert my suspension to auto adjust. I just picked up a wrecked 88 which has power everything. I am planning on putting it all on my 87 which has zip. I have noticed that I have optional plugs everywhere, so I figure that I am already wired and maybe it will work plug and play.
The non powered window to power conversion looks like its gonna be fun. Not alot of friggin room to work in these doors.
Any help or pointers would be great.....

And even if the connectors are there, the only shocks that I've ever heard of being compatible with the AAS system are OEM shocks. Very expensive. You'll be better off with an aftermarket set-up, both performance and money-wise. I put Tokico premium non-adjustable (aka Tokico Blues) on my 7 and she loves them.

It's easy. Just be careful that you don't slice up your hands and arms on the edges of the 'holes' in the doors. Be patient. The manual tracks will come out. They won't want to, but they will.
I would agree with Amur, + unless you are willing to go to the dealer and spend a god awlful amount on new AAS shocks, it would not make any sense to put the AAS system in.
After all I am sure that almost no one is using stock worn out 15+ year old shocks and expecting them to be even half as good as they should be.

Maybe I should have mentioned the Shocks are on a 88 doner car I just picked up. It was wrecked on the front. The guy had just put in new shocks, and a rebuilt motor. I was planning on popping them on my 87 this weekend.
