CA Auto to 5 speed

if i convert a automatic shell to a 5 speed and cut off the mounts of a donor 5 speed and re weld the tranny mounts on a automatic shell. How much horsepower can the new welded mounts take before breaking. Will it be safe to turn the car to a turbo 2 or will it not be safe? thinking about a 500 hp turbo 2

^ like he said, as long as the welder knows what hes doing and does a good job of it, it should easily be able to handle 500hp

the adapter setup fails. and i highly doubt it'll take the abuse at the power levels he's wanting. Do it right the 1st time.

so welding the mount should be good. by the way this car will be use for drifting comps. nasa racing events and mid level touge mountain racing. So really dont want the tranny to break and fall when racing in the mountains

what are these "adapters" they are talking about?
I want to do a 5spd swap in an NA so I dont need it to be ultra strong.

Yes, welding the mounts will work as long as the welder is good.

+1 on the no adaptors, welding in new mounts is cheaper, easier, and stronger then any kind of backass adaptor crap.

i did that on my car.. it never broke,, it was welded on top and and bottom hit close to 300 hp

i have recently switch to plate mount system from the archive section.. and i am trying it out.. so far no issues
