Attention: Idle too low....??? Help
Ok ill start from the top my car ,when warmed up, my S5 idles at 600 rpm and dips even lower when revs come down but go then back up to 600. i've tried everything to get my car to 750...I've tried to adjust the idle air screw on top of the throttle body with check connecter grounded but only can go as far up as 600rpm, can adjust down from 600 but not up. And once i hits the halfway point in adjusting up the screw on top of the throttle body the revs hang up around 1000rpm and won't come back down till i put a load on the engine.
I've also tried cracking open the secondary throttle plates gradually i can adjust the idle up with this method but revs hang up around 1000rpm again and drops down when put substantial load on engine. I also tried screwing the air adjust screw in to compensate for the extra air by having the secondary plates slightly open. I have tried the primary throttle plate slightly open too.I've even went back and adjusted the tps when slightly opened the primary and secondary throttle plates just to make sure the ecu was seeing a closed throttle position.
TPS- 1.00v warmed up ignition on
Sprayed 3 cans of brake clean to try to find vacuum leaks, which wouldn't make sense because should cause higher idle with vacuum leak.
Engine has 40,000miles all stock with all emissions
No Codes
Timing is dead on
New Alternator and Battery
Cleaned all grounds
Bac tested good according to fsm cleaned as well
New o2 sensor
New mazda plugs and wires
New clutch switch
New nuetral switch
I seems that no matter what i do it won't idle above 600 without sticking around 1000 when revs come down. Idle will come down with a load. Is there something else in the idle circuit that i could be missing, like does any of the barrel shaped solenoids that control vacuum with all of the vacuum lines running to them be causing this?? I've been trying to find this problem for some time now. Please anyone that has a lot of experience with rx7's or has been in this club a while help me out...Thanks

Having said that,
You either need to adjust the CAS or just tighten the throttle cable.

adjust the throttle cable
but if it isnt idle hunting what are you worrying about?
edit: does the idle SOUND that low? cuz the tach may even be off a hair, i mean were only talking 150-200 rpm

brand new cats too...lol I checked it with a tachometer we have at work and it set dead on at 600rpm can't not adjust any higher. Cas is dead on timing specs...but what if i were to advance it a couple of degrees would that hurt the motor??? I know that could raise the idle a little. Or would just adjusting throttle cable a little be better???
