Guys and girls.

The proper cure is, with bolts on both sides of the presilencer and also at both ends of the Y pipe still a bit loose, torque the left side (looking from the rear, I used my floor jack at the left muffler) clockwise to maximize the "slop" adjustment and THEN tighten all the nuts and bolts. Using zip ties or turn buckles is forcing alignment instead of finding alignment.

In the cases that this slop adjustment doesn't completely do the job (such as in the case of perhaps 7's that have had some sort of body damage, body kids installed, or old or aftermarket engine mounts), go to your local muffler shop and have them "heat and tweak" the piping at strategic points from Y pipe on back to obtain what remaining adjustment needed. For instance, at the front of the car, a 1 degree engine tilt from what factory new specs would suggest would have a multiplier effect on how the cans look at the other (back) end of the car.

I've been kicking around the same idea. I wonder if there isn't a common problem with FC motor mounts which causes the engine sit the slightest bit tilted which then has the multiplied effect on the exhaust.

When I still had the N/A motor in my vert I was unaware the mounts were going bad. The thing that got my car to the shop was "noise" coming from the transmission. I thought I was having trouble with my clutch. Took it to a transmission shop and they found the motor mount problem. The noise I was hearing was strain being put on the U-joint.

I wonder how many people in cars as old as ours have engine mounts that aren't quite to new OEM spec, but also not bad enough for them to notice or have any symptoms other than the exhaust being off.

I don't remember reading it, but I'd be curious to see how many people had the exhaust sag with OEM exhaust before they put on the RB? I'll be out at my parent's house over the weekend, I'll see if my father's RB exhaust sags. I don't recall his OEM exhaust sagging before, but I also didn't have alot of contact with his car as they were living out of state at one point. Shortly after they moved to town we put the RB exhaust on his car.

made some adjustments . bent some hangers , loossened things tihgtened things . helps to have a lift and a torch but not impossible other wise. You just have to play with it till its even

I tried HOZZMANs technique but it still sagged so I just played with bending the hangers and eventualy got it

Was out at my parent's house yesterday and the N/A exhaust which was on my vert and sagged also sags on his. Driver side. I didn't think to get a pic till night and the pic didn't turn out well.

As Hozzman said though, the sag on my vert shouldn't be disregarded because I car had gotten a little bit of rear end damage from a previous owner.

The sag on my father's vert however is a different case.

The one thing that I noticed on my RB cat-back was that the cans weren't far enough apart, so that the tips would never be centered in the cut-outs. I've been able to adjust it with various sized rubber donuts and hose clamps to be level, but just can't move the cans out far enough to be centered.

I've seen this one time.

Only cure is to go to your favorite Muffler shop and do a little heat and tweak. What's needed is to heat the Y-Pipe to red hot with a torch, and while red hot soft push the cans to the outside until lined up. May have to push a little beyond lined up point as it could come back a bit.

Repeat the process on the other side of the Y-Pipe/Can.

the revII y-pipe has a brace, my guy cut the brace when he did the exaust to get the tips to sit better.

Just jumping on the bandwagon and saying my drivers side is tilted downward more instead of slightly up. We got rid of a lot of the saggyness by using 2 different doughnuts on the far side of the can. It helped some, but not to bad. I'm gonna take it to my local muffler place to get it aligned someday. But seriously, its not bad enough I really care. But I subscribed :P

Not so sure that was the best idea, given better alternatives. There is a reason they put that brace there in the first place.

Good to hear. Had me worried.

Still, odd that he didn't just do the less intrusive and far less work heat and tweak. I guess it's one of those had to be there things.

the space was a good 1/4", seems like alot to try to heat and bend, maybe he thought it easier to cut it.

I actually dont have any pictures of the exaust when he was done, I had some online but that was before all the hangers were on, later we changed pipe sizes and changed hangers, THEN it was perfect. Only driven the car twice since then.
