CA imidiate help!

hey guy... i just dropped in my engine in my 87 and i did a swap from automatic to manual, i tihnk i did all the wiring right... the only things i plugged in were the reverse lights and i think i did bypass the safety switch on both clutch and tranny cause the engine cranks.. the only thing i did on the engine was replace water seals.. and all the apex seals were fine.. when i take out the spark plugs out u hear the compression and there's spark and there's fuel... the engine just cranks but doesn't start... it sounds like it's flooded so i turn off the fuel pump and u hear it kinda like it's gonna start cause the engine shakes a little.. but it doesn't start... i don't know wut else to do.. fuel pressure is good.. spark is good.. i dunno wut it could be... a lose ground?..

Have you tried unflooding it? My rebuild took FOREVER to start because the Mazda FSM says to assemble everything with petroleum jelly. Needless to say, it filled the spark plug holes while cranking, which I had to completely clear out before it started.

Try this, pop the vacuum line off the pressure sensor and stick it in a bottle of marvel mystery oil. Remove egi fuse, crank for about 15 sec, and return the vacuum line to its sensor. Let the starter cool, crank for about 10 sec, replace the fuse, cool, then fire it up.

Also, make sure that you put the CAS in correctly. I happened to F up my rebuild by installing the CAS drive gear on backwards. The CAS was in right, but no matter what I couldn't get the ignition in time. After pulling the front cover and flipping the gear, it timed perfectly.

wut pressure sensor r u talking about?... the map sensor? and i did line up the CAS correctly cause i aligned the little dot with the line.. or my friend did it.. and he knew where it's supposed to go... so ya.. and the car does feel like it's gonna start.. u know like when the car is flooded... and u turn off the fuel pump...( i have a switch) and the engine starts puffing.. that's all it does.. but no starting..

Yep. Sounds like a new build to me. Just unplug the map/pressure sensor and suck some MMO down the vacuum tube into the motor. Usually on a new build, the engine needs some compression assistance, more than just killing fuel.

Instead of using your Fuel cut switch,Unplug the EGI fuse.take the plugs out and get the Fuel out of the housing by cranking with no plugs in.Then Put some oil in the spark plug holes ,and crank for 3 seconds.Then put in a GOOD set of plugs..Put the Egi Fuse back in and give it a try..(if the car is wire correctly it should start)

ok... so here's an update... i'm not sure i wanna say my apex seals do suck and that's the reason.. but i wanna see wut other people think... so.. just now i put the oil in the sparkplug wholes.. and then put eerything back together... the car did start.. it smoked like a bitch.. and thenit was getting to operating tempeture and i wanted to freaking turn on the electric fan but i don't have a switch inside the car... i had it hook it up to a relay and the power from the small fan powers the relay and i thought that turning on the ac would give power to the relay.. and turn on the fan but no.. so ya that was a problem.. so while the car was smoking like a bitch i was trying to figure out how to get out of the car or try to get to the fuse box but i couldn't and i was by myself.. so then i had the car for about less than 3500 rmps for a while.. and i let go of the gas... but the car wouldn't idle by itself... so... then i tryed letting go... but the engine stalled and i tryed giving it a little gas.. but that didn't work.. do u think it's running hella rich or wut might be the problem?... OHH... and after it stalled it just doesn't start again.. so imma do the oil thing again see wut happens.. ANY IDEAS?!!
