ATF Trick questions and suggestions

I've been reading about the ATF trick all over the web. I think I understand how to do it and what it will do for my car.

Now I want to know if I SHOULD do it.

My car is an 88 RX-7 NA (FC) vert.
Aftermarket air filter is the only real mod. The car runs fine. There is a fair amount of vibration at high RPMs. So, should I do the ATF trick to clean up any carbon build up and stuff or should I just leave it alone. Pros and cons would be helpful too.

Thanks
-Max

If your car is running fine there really is no reason to do it. It probably wouldn't hurt but I doubt it will fix the high RPM shake. That might be motor mount problems.

Yeah, I thought about it and re-read all the stuff I'd bookmarked about and a nd decided that it would be a waste of time and energy with no positive results at this point.
