Doing some repairs today and took of the side panel. Man there's a huge ball of trash in the back of the wheel well between the body and frame.

Then looking between the oil coolers and radiator. It's like a vaccuum cleaner bag - all the dirt gets sucked in between and doesn't go anywhere. Mostly hair, straw, and anything else that lightweight. Probably gets 5-8 degrees hotter with all the crud in there.

In both cases yes. The engine scrape guard and side panel.

I'm sure there's other areas that collect trash, but at least it's not dirty that can rust the panels.

Hell yeah! When I first bought my car, I found a small trash bag in there. There was also a lot of built up grease, and hair and other dirt. 2 months ago, it was so bad that I removed the radiator and sprayed the hell outta it and the oil cooler and cleaned it with a brush. After that, I could felt the air flow through the radiator from the stock electric fan since I couldn't feel it before.

When I repaired my leaking oil cooler lines, I was amazed at the crud I cleaned out. Ever since, the car has been running a bit cooler as well.

When I was pulling the engine outta my 89 TII, I took everything out of the car too so that I could paint it and make everything look nice. Anyway, I was taking out the radiator and a dead bird fell outta my car. ******* nasty....ugh.
