Apparently the apex seal thought the wastegate looked like fun...

Pulled the turbo off the car yesterday, pulling the wastegate off I see this thing sticking out of it, I'm like wtf is that there for? Then I'm like, oh... that's an apex seal. Nice.

ok, side seal probably, it's a little thin to be a 3mm apex seal.

I can't imagine how a side seal could be expelled from the exhaust ports unless some serious and very creative engine damage took place.

well I dunno wtf it is then. If an apex seal went, and a corner seal went... no... wait a minute.. that's too freaking short to be a side seal. It's gotta be an apex seal

that wastegate looks pretty used... sure it didn't come from another engine? (the spring?)

I'm pretty sure, the wastegate was functioning properly when installed.

That makes sense, an apex spring. It is kinda rounded at the middle, symmetric-like, like a spring.
