One of my buddies bought a G-tech, and did a bunch of runs on the back raods, when he went to the track, he actually ran faster than the G-tech, by about two tenths.
Really, I think its a nice little toy if you got the cash to spend on it, but, you have to be really accurate about the weight of your car.

yeah, i have heard a few stories about the g-tech and am probably going to get one, but does anybody know anything about the beltronics one? i haven't heard anything about it and i'm assuming that it's "inferior". but that's only because nobody has told me anything about it.

For what it offers, the G-Tech is a cool little gizmo. Especially when you want to test the effect of a new mod. The G-Tech Pro Comp is the one that is really cool.
Car weight is only an issue with the G-Tech if you are trying to determine HP values.
For 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, you just have to ensure that the unit is perfectly zeroed and is attached to your windshield tighly.
Sometimes the units are not perfectly calibrated. To check that, tilt the unit up and down. If you do not get a reading of 1.00, there is an internal pot that you can adjust.
