Exclamation APEXi Super Ground System

I just finished up with this kit, and I've got to tell you, it does work. Not only did the usual 3800rpm hesitation completely dissapear, so did every other little bump in the power curve. Whenever I floor it at about 3000rpm in second, power comes smoothly and not in a violent, jerky manner as it used to (with that pause at 3800). The power (probably because it comes much smoother) feels like it's a tad bit more, maybe 5hp at the very most (I'm skeptical of that figure). On top of everything, the usual stuff with fixing/adding grounds came along with the install, too. Brighter interior lights, brighter exterior lights, and an additional bonus is a menacing red glow in my engine bay.

Where did you buy this grounding kit?

And for how much?

I'm sure it does help, but you can achieve exactly the same results at a fraction of the cost by buying quality cable and connectors from an electronics store (or similar).

did it meself with 8 gauge power cable, ring connectors and some shrink tubing for a nice tidy look. cost: 30 bucks.

also, since my car was running fine to begin with, i noticed absolutely no change whatsoever in how it ran after adding the grounds. any power you think you pickup from this mod is actually you getting power back you had already lost.

the apex system acutally comes with a box of electronics that "filters" out the bad signals. i've seen the jdm version with the blue led's sell for 150-200 each. not sure if it makes a difference between with the box and just grounding cables.. but thinking about picking up a set myself.

If there is anything to filter, it's high frequency stuff, which a $1 capacitor will do.

(Flashing) LED's do nothing but add flash to the whole package.

bingoboy is right - a bunch of heavy gauge wires with solid connectors placed in the proper positions will do this for pennies comparies to all these "hyper grounding" kits.

Yeah, I knew it was a sort of a waste of money, but I honestly didn't feel up to creating anything, just bolting something on was fine with me.

Damn, if you guys want to buy stuff like this, we can make kits for under $100 if you want them...
Complete with blinking LED's if you want.

Just curious, but where do you suggest grounding the kits?

Seriously tho I think adding an extra couple grounds (from battery to block, battery to chassis, and battery to alt post) should be fine, and a grounding kit isn't needed - thats just my opinion though. It is a lot easier to bolt on a kit if you don't have the time and know-how to go buy each wire/connector needed (there isn't too many parts) and install them (its easy tho takes all of 5-10 minutes). But for me, I have more time then money so I go the cheap route for things like this !
