Apexi S-AFC fuel controler

I was wanting to know what kind of gain I would see by adding a fuel controler to a n/a. I have intake and exhaust. How hard are they to tune? Where is the best place to buy one. Is Apexi the best for my needs?

It probably will only add *maybe* 10-15 hp on an n/a. Tuning you'd probably need a wideband to really get the best out of it. Buying one you might be able to find one used or go for the new s-afc 2..

10-15 hp, hell ya. For tuning, what is a wideband? On the www.rx7store.net site they have two kinds of Fuel Controllers HKS afr and Apexi S-AFC II which is best?

A wideband is an O2 (oxygen) sensor that is used to tell if you are burning lean or rich. You adjust the AFC while looking at the O2 reading. Go to a good dyno shop and they should have one. BTW I think the Apexi unit is the best.

Could I get a air/fuel ratio gauge in the car to do the same as the wideband? Will the dyno shop do the tuning for me or is it easy to tune the unit myself?

The shop can do it for you, or if you are experienced you can do it. You can also get a sensor and gauge and do it without the dyno, but I would only go that route if you plan on constant tweaking. Alot of people just set it and forget it.

I think the difference is the new one, S-AFC II can control fuel at eight points and the older one, S-AFC can only control 5 points. I think that is the difference, but there could be more things.
