Apexi I-moni

Apexi makes this neat little monitoring device calle dthe imoni, which plugs right into the OBD2 slot for easy installation, sounds easy enough, right? The only problem is that the FC is not equipped with OBD2, so I'm wondering if there is any way to custom fab a harness or adapter, or if a kit already exsists, to make this work on an FC.
ps- don't tell me to search cuz I have and found nothing.

ODB2 wasn't invented in the RX-7 era.
I think it first showed up in 1995.

It sounds like you need the rTech 2.0, or a stand alone.

The OBDII protocal is available easily if you search Google. Yes, it would be possible to create a microcontroller based circuit to read all the engine sensors and then output that data in the form of an ODBII stream...Practical, cost effective and time effective? Absolutely not. By the time you get that done you would have wished you had just spent the time and effort going standalone (with built in data logging).

it can be done, my dad built one last summer that reads mercedes 300D turbo ECU's it did take him a while to build, but it was free using parts from work. (he writes ECU code for Visteon)
