Question Apex'i GT Spec Cat Back

On n/a s4 rx7 would it be ok to run a GT Spec Cat Back system, because my friend has his mind set on that muffler, we just want to make sure that this system will run alright with a series 4 n/a

how big's the piping? does he have the air pump mod done for the 5/6th ports?

is that a dual set up or single? single would be lighter and have a little more back pressure, aka a little more low end torque

ive heard the GT Spec on an n/a, it is absolutely incredible sounding, its a very mild but deep import tone with no resonating at all, a very great sounding system, power wise it should be good too

The system is a single driver's side exit. The Cat Back system does have pretty big piping dia. but the whole system starts with a resanator box then piping back into the GT Spec Muffler. The only thing that we're worried about is his 5th/6th ports, because we wanted to do straight pipe.

Here is what we have so far...

GT Spec Cat Back

What should we do for the ports to function properly.
Thanks alot

you could get pineapple inserts and wire them open, and not see hardly any loss at low rpms, or hook them up to the ACV vent hose, or the air pump.

I thought it was exhaust velocity that gave torque... not backpressure

doesnt matter his quote is wrong regardless... its a single setup which has less backpressure... but backpressure is a main ingredient in haveing low-end power

back pressure has NOTHING to do with any kind of power, back pressure is a bad thing, no back pressure is good, none at all velocity is what you want, scavenging is what you should strive for.

well, just the note, back pressure is bad
