What's better and what's the difference between the Apexi GT Spec and N1 Spec exhausts?Does anyone have sound clips of them? Are they both right exit exhausts? Thanks for your input.

I have the single N1 cat-back, and I love it. I highly reccomend it. Its got a great sound to it, but some of that is dependent on the rest of you exhaust setup. I've got the RB presilencer and downpipe, and it sounds incredible. As for the side they're on, the N1 is a right exit, and the GT isa left exit. From what I can tell, they are similar in construction, but the GT is a little larger (65-75-85 with 115 tip, as opposed to 65-70-85 with 115 tip.) I dont know how much difference that would make. Since the GT seems to be higher flowing, it must have a different design. The GT is going to be louder, but it comes with the Super Silencer, which I think you have to get seperately for the N1. I dont have it, so I cant say much about how it affects the sound/power. I know that my car is very loud, but I have a strait pipe and a ported engine. Also, turbos are generally quieter thn NA's. I have'nt noticed many people with GT's, but a lot of people have N1's, so that kinda says something about it also. Either way theyre going to be good.
I'm about to get the N1 dual for my '89 N/A. The GT is supposedly a lot louder, and the N1 is already pretty loud.
The GT's tip looks extremely larger to me, and that's the main reason that I don't like it, but it's usually cheaper than the N1.
If I were you, I'd definitely go with the N1, and if you want to dish out a little more cash, get the dual.

Does anyone have sound clips or pics of the N1.I was told it comes out on a slight slant opposed to the GT that doesn't.If I would buy it I would just have the N1 catback exhaust cause I dont have the money for the mid pipe and all that.So I can just have my neighbor at his shop weld a custom pipe to fit or what?
eah, you guys are misinformed. the gt-spec is an upgrade from the N1.
-the N1 is made from mild steel pipe with apexis rust resistant paint on it. thats why almost all apexi mufflers you see are all painted gunmetal.
-the GT-spec is made from SS, and i think starts from 80mm, and between the presilencer and muffer goes to (i believe)100mm gradually getting larger.
-the GT-spec is made to make more power(once you get up into big turbos, but it probally isnt much), its the better muffler of the two, and has a bigger can. also has the same presilencer as the N1, and in all respects *should* be quiter than the N1 because of more baffleing.
-ive heard a GT-spec exhaust on a FC once, and i can honstley say it was the best sounding FC ive ever heard. but most of that was because of the 60-1 ball bearing turbo.

The numbers I posted above were taken directly from rx7.com. I went back and verified the size of them on the Apex website. The tips are both 115mm (4.5 in.) I didn't find the pipe size on the us apex website, so I went to the japanese site. They actually did have the GT series listed for the 2nd gens. The 3rd gens were 75-95mm, which might be where you got that size from. It sounds like the GT series offers more room for additional power on very moddified cars, but it probably won't make that much difference on a less moddified car. Also, as bejbis said, the GT is made entirely of stainless steel, while only the canister is on the N1.

should work, works for me, i really like them, they turn alot of heads and i know drifters dont use duals, but i figure its something different. They are kinda loud to, but normally its just me in the car so it doesnt bother me, took me about an hour and a half to install by myself.
Only an hour and a half by yourself. WOW! That's pretty comforting for me. I want to do it myself (or with friends at least), the only problem is the car sat in a garage for twelve years and the exhaust is corroded. Hopefully it won't be too hard to get the stock exhaust off of it, and then, hopefully an hour and a half later I'll have my new exhaust on.
What are the chances you have any pictures of it Turbo23?
