You know a buddy of mine just put one of those in his Miata and can't get it to disengage. Hasn't diagnosed the problem yet so I can't say it's related to the clutch kit. But he has had it apart and back together and according to him everything appears to be assembled properly and the slave is moving the throwout arm.

I got one on my Fd. Works great with a lot of grab. Almost too much grab. I'm going to pull the engine and use a stock disc instead as to improve the driveability.

Thanks nexpo8. Unfortunately my car is outside, got my fingers crossed on that. I can't really comment on if the ACT clutch is better or not because, I haven't installed this one yet. But, I did have an ACT clutch/RB flywheel combo before and I absolutely loved it. The bite was not too harsh but it handled everything I threw at it and just laughed at me. 6000 RPM clutch drops, and never slipped once. The only downside to the ACT was the increased pedal effort. You WILL have calves bigger than Popeyes forearms in no time! I still have this setup on my blown engine but and will be reusing it if this clutch doesn' meet my expectations. Verdict: the ACT HD is worth every frickin penny!

Mine has been in for over a year now.

That pressure plate has more leverage than most, so the the high clamping force is made with light pedal pressure.
It works great with a light flywheel, and a short throw shifter.
It's a sweet setup for mildly modified engines.

While I do not have that exact clutch, I do have a 4 Puck Sprung Clutch in my 87. I am also using the RB pressure plate. I bought mine through Mazdatrix.

Don't be surpirsed if you kill the car the first few time though. There is not much room for slipping the clucth. It is either on or it is off.

I am also running a 12lb flywheel.
