Anyone sell FMIC kits for starion ICs?
I have an s5 and a starion intercooler. I would rather buy a kit or plans than have to design it myself. I'm not very bright. The car is stripped out, no ac or ps. I don't mind what the diameter is too much as I don't want to weld new connectors on the IC. My goal is really only to keep it at about 250hp. I mainly want a front mount so I don't have to take the stupid IC off when I need to adjust something. Anyone seen anything?

I havent seen anyone that makes a kit to just bolt on a starion IC. Typically stuff like that is a custom affair. While not terribly difficult, some design and fab work is inevitable. If you dont feel comfortable doing it yourself, either pay to have someone do it for you or buy a pre-fab kit(=$$).

Honestly, i wouldnt use the starion IC. I had one and was about to install it untill I found out that it really doesnt flow very well at all. Find an Izuzu NPR box truck intercooler. MUCH better and well worth the time and effort.

No one makes at kit to my knowledge. I believe 1300cc.com has details of how a starion FMIC was installed on an FC though. Its not really that difficult to pipe it though, just purchase some mandrel bends through JC whitney or another parts wholesaler. Also get yourself some silicone couplers from RRE or where ever. The hardest part is either having someone make a bead on each pipe, or welding one yourself so that your couplers won't slip off as easily.

Get rid of that piece of ****.
It's been proven that even the stock TMIC flows better than that junk.
If you're going to go through all that hassle to make a FMIC, get a better core.
If you can't do it yourself, SAVE MORE MONEY, WORK HARDER and then buy the GReddy kit.

Hell the going rate for a starion last time I check was around $100, though not much better, you can find cheap intercoolers all day on Ebay for under $300.
Personally one of the best and good deals in the intercooler market, the Precision units, they came are "GT" cores from Garret, a good friend of my is a Precision dealer and has installed around 100 of these last year with a great result on every car they were installed on.

Send me your BMX parts
I too wasted my time with a Starion about 7 years ago. I put one on my basically stock S5 and the boost was about 3-4psi vs. stock 8.6psi. Not the best flowing IC I've seen..
Unless you have a much larger turbo/more boost the stock IC below 11psi is fine....

I don't have any personal experience with the starion FMIC. If you search the topic you will see there is controversy over its benefits. There are those that claim to have used it for upwards of 300+ horsepower. I believe Sonic Rat used one on his turbo N/A at one time, or still is. However, if your going to go through all the trouble of piping a FMIC yourself, check out ebay for a better core. I got mine there (27.5"L endtank to endtank x 12"H x 3" Thick, 3" outlets) for $235 shipped.
