anyone running these rims?

the new motegi touge rims?

i was thinking about running the 17x9 up front and 18x10 out back if they would fit

here are the wheel specs for those sizes,
Size offset backside/in
17x9 24 6
18x10 30 6 5/8

i know the tire size will make a diffrence also but im just trying to figure out if the rims will even fit before i bother with that part

TIA

first .. I have NO CLUE what you are talking about with the sizings.. what the hell do you mean by 17X9 24 6

If its a 17X9 wheel with a 24mm offset.. it may clear the inner suspension up front.. but you should be running at LEAST a 235 tire on the rim and the tires are going to stick out about a INCH past the fender wells on the front....

Spend some time sniffing though the FC wheel fitment thread in the suspension section.... there a pic on there of a goofball with similar wheels on a white FC... it looks friggin retarded..

an 18X10 is going to be a nightmare to fit in the rear without fender mods as well

i mean exactly what it says right above thoes numbers. its the wheel size then offset then backside rim width

and i honestly dont care if they stick out in the back. im going to have the front narrowed to a 7.5" or 8" rim but 9 is the smallest they make. i just need more tread area on the back wheel ill flare the fenders out if i must

inside of the front wheels will be very close to the suspension. it may not clear unless you're running coilovers, but then again it just might.
18x10 +30 should work for the back....but you'll definetly need to do some work on the fenders, front and rear.... shouldn't take a whole lot though.

and no, you don't need to run "AT LEAST a 235 tire" on a 17x9. 225's should be fine, or maybe even some 215's. more than that you'll be stretching them a bit... but thats not to say you can't fit wider than that.... its just not the best idea.

oh, and that "goofball" with "similar wheels on a white FC" is running 17x10 +12 offset, which is quite a bit different fitment. and btw, some people actually like that look.

thanks for the help everybody

i decided to go with a diffrent rim all togeather though. and i wont have a fitment issue cause they are 15x10 with a 5.5" backspaceing in the back and the front is only gona be a 15x4 1/2" . but its nice to know if i want to on a future RX7 i can run those rims

i did kinda neglect to mention that this is my drag car so it doesnt see a whole lota street time so 17's and 18's i decided were a little overkill

.. I run 17x9.5" +36 F 235 and 17x10 +18 R 275 with 2.5" coilovers with no clearence issues, 2 deg camber all aorund seems to tuck then at least under the lip , but rolling it is wise.. if I could I'd have gotten the rears in a +24 offset.. Oh and full lock to lock turning radius on the front end.

You guys streching these tires... a 225 is pushin it... a 215 on a 9 inch rim... the cars going to be riding on the sidewalls in a hard corner and likely to lose the bead grip and blow out... not good.

But he did mention that this is a drag car... That being said... the 9 inchers up front are a bit big for the application anyway right

As for the dude with the wheels i was talking about

they look like mustang wheels... 18X9 25mm offset (however, some sets of 'stang wheels came with 13mm offsets on the front.... which is, i think, why it appears that the fronts may be sticking out a bit further than the back... but still, you get the point, the fronts are just WAY to big)
