Anyone removed thir front cover?

Just wondering, I've heard a lot of conflicting stories about removing the front cover, and problems people have had.
I need to take mine off, and have never done it.. the shop manual doesn't have much info.
I've just heard nightmares about misaligning bearings and etc.
Thanks!

Trust me those bearings (to on the gears and two on the rotors) are pressed in there, they are not going anywhere. The only problem in my opinion is that the bottom of the front cover bolts to the oil pan. So you taking off the front cover you could do it with out pulling the pan but when you put it back even with sealant you will probably get a leak . Why do you need to take the cover off for? I would leave it on till you rebuild the motor. My 0.02
